Brickell Completes Palm Tree-Inspired Solitair Apartment Tower

Aug 24 2018

The 50-story Solitair Brickell rental tower is complete and ready to show off its unique basket-weave design said to be inspired by the angular trunk of a Medjool date palm tree. Designed by the Miami offices of global architecture firm Stantec, the high-rise has been under construction since mid 2015.

“The unique design of the building is mesmerizing,” said Stantec’s Jon Cardello in a statement to Curbed Miami. “It makes pedestrians walking stop and stare.” Behind its flashy serrated skin, Solitair’s interiors are a bit more subdued—described by its designers as “cool” and “neutral.”

In addition to its 438 luxury residential units, the development boasts one of the highest resort style pools in Miami on its 50th-floor deck. Other amenities include a billiard room, lounge, business center, and a fitness complex with an outdoor yoga space.

Developed by ZOM Living, the newly completed tower features 6,200 square feet of ground-floor retail space and garage parking for 463 vehicles. Solitair Brickell is located at 86 SW 8th Street and is just steps from the massive, mixed-use Brickell City Centre shopping development.
